Xocai Atlanta

Several of our Xocai Atlanta (and Beyond) team were at the ALS Night of Hope Gala last night. What a fun event raising money and awareness for ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. My dear friend and business partner, Libby Patrick, who lost her brother Bill Sims to ALS in July 2007, holds the torch to find a cure for this debilitating and eventually fatal disease. Libby and her family promised Bill before he died that they would do everything in their power to find a cure for what medical professionals as the most cruel and ruthless disease on Earth. Libby and her sister Sherri Hofherr who were on the gala committee, their parents Bill and Betty Sims, as well as Libby’s husband Carl, were all at the event last night.

Some of the Xocai Atlanta (and Beyond) team who were also supporting this important night of fundraising for ALS, were Eileen & Tom Rosencrants, Wes & Sandra Bobbitt (in from Charlotte, NC), and Jim & Caroline King.

The evening’s speakers included Russ Spencer as the Emcee, Bill & Rebecca Leffler, Duane Morrow, and Jordan Ennis. Ed Tessaro was given the “Steve Ennis Hope Award” and gave an inspiring message about his personal fight with ALS. Ariana Savalas flew in from Los Angeles to serenade us like an angel with Somewhere Over the Rainbow and the Black Eyed Peas.

There was much dancing and singing all night long too. Basically, this was a super fun, well-run event that raised a lot of money for ALS research!
