Team Alaska

We found a small church in Anchorage called Mt View Baptist Church, who have an outreach service every Sunday morning for the homeless and needy people living in their neighborhood. Mt. View is kind of an inner city type low income area on the edge of Anchorage, where there is a lot of drug and gang activity. A lot of needy people with very little, to nothing live there, many in tents. So this church decided to cook a brunch every Sunday, and invite them for a hot meal in a warm building, and show them God's love. They do it EVERY week! And the meals are totally provided by, and prepared and served by members of the church. We were having an opportunity meeting in Anchorage on Saturday, and when we found out it was Darrell Black (MXI Bronze) and his wife Bobby's turn to prepare that meal on Sunday, a bunch of our Alaska Xocai team volunteered to help them. We met at the church at about 9:00 AM and cooked an awesome breakfast for 100 people, and then served it to the group of people that showed up at 11:00 AM. What an awesome experience we all had. The members of our team were Darrell and Bobby Black, their daughter Amy, Deb Main (from Washington), Jan Moorehouse, Kathy Libbey, and Jill Williams. Thank you Andy for your vision for serving others.
